It's a ritual sacrifice... with pie.

So we gotta talk about our Thanksgiving menu, llama-heads.

So far these are the possibilities:

The Retka-Mega Loaf
A Turkey? (remember we have 4 ovens)
The Meatloaf Turkey stuffed with mashed potatoes

Green bean casserole
Succotash
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes
Cranberry salad
zucchini casserole

Pumpkin pie (Glut. free)
Apple pie
Pecan pie
Mince meat pie?

Do we really need three main courses? Technically we will be there for three days, so maybe. Any thoughts on this? I'd like to see more veggie sides.

The Megaloaf/Überducken will be more than enough protein for Thanksgiving dinner proper. Bettina can probably also whip together a fowl-based green chile soup for the day after.

Laura and I are uber-traditionalists when it comes to Turkey day ... and we mean it in the delicious, unhealthy way ...

We'll be bringing a Turkey, homemade mac-n-cheese, canned cranberry sauce and plain-ole delicious stuffing.

Wow. I don't think I've ever had mac n' cheese at Thanksgiving... I'm considering doing more veggies. A salad perhaps?

BTW. While the Retka Megaloaf sounds like a culinary experience I will likely never forget, I do appreciate a good old-fashioned Turkey. And hey! We have 4 ovens.
